Job Title: Filed Monitoring Assistant

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

These jobs are found in the Sub Office Program Unit in the M&E Section. S/he report to M&E team leader under the overall technical guidance of WFP’s Head of Program. The job holder is typically responsible for the overall monitoring activities of the school feeding program and resilience. Job holders operate with a high degree of independence to ensure that program and WFP policy objectives are achieved in full. S/he usually involved in a wide variety of program and analytical work, some of which may be of considerable complexity.

 

JOB PURPOSE:

To perform school feeding monitoring activities within the specified coverage area, ensuring that program generate quality evidence on the outcomes and provide reports to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):

  • Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the school feeding at the sub-office /field level, in close collaboration with the Government counter.
  •  Assist the sub-office in the development allocation plan and prepare monthly field mission report to document programme implementation.
  • Under the direct supervision of sub office head of programme, participate in sub-office led partner capacity
  •  Assist in the coordination of regular meetings with local authorities on the commodity pipeline, distribution arrangements and other relevant issues;
  •  Assist in consolidating sub-office level activity monitoring issues and follow-up whether
  • flagged issues have been addressed;
  • Liaise with Government counterparts to gather feedback and comments to support programme reviews and improve services
  • Participate effectively in missions, assessments, donor’s missions, rapid need assessments, nutrition surveys, as well as trainings.
  • Provide guidance to the schools on WFP operational practices, monitoring tools and methods in order to support them to complete self-monitoring tasks and to contribute to the visibility of WFP in the schools.
  • Report to the Sub Office Head of Programme on relevant events regarding food management and other related issues;
  •  Ensure satisfactorily any additional duties, as required by his/her supervisor
     

STANDARD MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education: Secondary school certificate. A post-secondary certificate in social sciences, Development Studies, Agriculture, Nutrition, or a related field. 

 

Experience: At least four (4) years of relevant professional experience in monitoring, evaluation, or programme implementation, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts. 

 

Knowledge & Skills:
